I decided to start two of the briefs today. System fonts and typospy

System fonts:

I first picked the font that I was most attracted to, this being 'Times New Roman'
I researched the history and the designer behind it
Then picked out a letter and tried to sketch this as accurately as possible. (g)
My initial idea was to create a chain out of the different sections of the 'g'
I wanted to try lino printing these sections however, I did not have the supplies and therefore I resorted to creating my own stamps out of foam and card
I have played around with the stamps trying to create different but effective compositions

Typospy:

I went off to London Wednesday afternoon to take a series of photos capturing typography and words
I was unable to pick up on full conversations but managed to collect snippets
I then played around making multiple zines and concluded which ideas worked best
I decided to make the type look handwritten to mimic how I interpret London and the people (playful)
For the 'hidden' image I wanted to create a collage out of some of the photographs I collected that afternoon. I want my zine to represent London overall rather than a certain section due to the fact I love its diversity and I want to present that in this piece of work
